The clatter of metal in Taipei's alleyways was Will's childhood symphony. His father, the neighborhood's "mechanical wizard," dismantled engines like clockwork, each gear a glinting puzzle piece in Will's young eyes. By age ten, he was "repairing" the family radio—much to his mother's dismay—while his father chuckled, "This kid's gonna outbuild me."
